This Motor City Classics diecast metal model represents a Grumman TBM Avenger. Avengers were built under license by General Motors while the Grumman factory was busy producing the F6F Hellcat. It carries the markings of VT-2 serving aboard the USS Hornet (CV-12) during August of 1944.
