This Motor City Classics diecast metal model represents "White 86" a Vought F4U Corsair. This aircraft named "Lulubelle" was purported to be the mount of Maj. Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, skipper of VMF-214 "Black Sheep." In truth this aircraft was not assigned to that squadron! It was the aircraft used for a famous photograph of "Pappy" sitting in the cockpit, taken in November 1943. And the victory flags do represent those achieved by, "Pappy."
