F-86F Sabre "Gene Kranz" 1/72 Model

America's first swept-wing fighter, the North American F-86 Sabre - sometimes called the "Sabrejet" - was introduced into the U.S. Air Force fleet in 1949. It is perhaps most recognizable as the aircraft battling Soviet MiG-15s during the Korean War. Despite its success during that conflict and its overall versatility and adaptability, it was largely obsolete by the late 1950s. It was, however, the most-produced Western jet fighter in history with nearly 10,000 planes manufactured and service extending in some international militaries until 1994.

This Hobby Master, 1/72 scale, diecast model is a replica of the My Darling Marta, an F-86F Sabre flown by future NASA Flight Director, Gene Kranz. In addition to its signature colorful artwork, it also features engraved panel lines, a sliding canopy, removable pilot figure, a well-equipped cockpit, detailed afterburning engine nozzle, optional-position landing gear, authentic markings, and a display stand.
