Boeing First Flights: The Jet Age 6 DVD set

In 1988 The Museum of Flight hosted a unique lecture series. Boeing First Flights: The Jet Age brought together the pilots and crew who were involved in the first flight of each of the Boeing Jets from the Dash 80 to the 767. The last program, the first flight of the 777 (June 12, 1994) waited until 2009 to be completed.

The interviews are very informal, full of great stories, anecdotes and technical information. Three are hosted by Brien Wygle who was at the time Vice President of Flight Operations for the Boeing Company. For aviation enthusiasts these programs are gems providing personal insights into the History of Boeing commercial jet aviation from the men who were there.

A word about the video quality is in order. The original five programs were filmed on video tape and the production values suffer from a lack of resolution. The segment on the 777 was produced with the latest technology at the time and is markedly superior.
