Product Description

Details

The Museum of Flight's B-17F was built here in Seattle, a mile north of the Museum, in Boeing's Plant II, and was delivered to the Army Air Forces on February 13th, 1943.

Though spending time in England in 1944, this B-17 was destined never to see combat, except for fighting forest fires, mosquitos, and in Hollywood movies.

Acquired by the Museum in 1991 B-17 42-29782, now nicknamed the Boeing Bee, was restored to its original military configuration between 1991 and 1998.

This embroidered iron on patch measures 4.25" in length with a wingspan of 5.25"
