First used in 1917, the five-pointed star, on a circular blue field with a red center dot, was the standard insignia used to identify U.S. military aircraft from August 1919 to May 1942. The insignia was often associated with the U.S. Army Air Corps, where it was incorporated as a winged-star device with a red canter dot on the shoulder patches worn by their personnel.
The nickel plated money clip with enameled insignia measures 2" x 1" and comes in a gift box. The money clip was custom made in Canada by Kinzoku for The Museum of Flight.
